But let's be real: self-care isn't just about skincare routines and aromatherapy; it's about taking the time to care for oneself, both physically and mentally.

Unfortunately, for many men, self-care is still a stigmatized concept, often seen as something that isn't "manly" or viewed as self-indulgent. From a young age, many boys are still taught to "man up" and avoid showing vulnerability, fostering the idea that self-care - or anything perceived as self-pampering - is a sign of weakness. This mindset can discourage men from prioritizing their well-being and perpetuate stereotypes that negatively impact both physical and mental health. But let's challenge that narrative. Self-care isn't about weakness; it's about strength. It's about recognizing when you need a break, when you need to recharge, and when you need to invest in your well-being. It's about time we break down these outdated stereotypes and redefine what self-care means for men.

However, breaking this silence is a crucial part of destigmatizing self-care. It's perfectly okay to feel overwhelmed or stressed out. And it's equally okay to seek help or to take steps to manage these feelings

So, how do we break the cycle of stigma surrounding men's self-care? It starts with open conversation and representation. We need examples of men in our communities as well as in our media who are openly discussing their self-care routines without shame or judgment. When public figures and everyday men alike talk about their self-care practices, it normalizes these behaviors and gives others with the courage to follow suit.

Tips for Men to Start Practicing Self-Care
