The Berry Best Women-Led Brands to Support This Month

Written by Audrey Hayward

We’re feeling pretty lucky this month, especially to be women. For those who didn’t know, here at Berry we’re incredibly lucky to be an all-female team. So yes, March is full of green ranging from leprechauns, four leaf clovers, and all green basketball mascots of March Madness (I only pay attention to my Alma Mater, oops!), but to us, March also reminds us of how lucky we are to have outstanding female role models that have paved the way for us in all ways possible. Women’s History Month is a month full of celebrating women's accomplishments and contributions throughout time in America. So that’s just what we wanted to do!

Before anything, it’s important to know a few facts of women-led and founded businesses to give some perspective on how dedicated the women that we’ll talk about are. Starting off, up until October 25, 1988 (when the Woman's Business Ownership Act was signed), banks required women to have a man cosign a business loan with them in order to get one (Congress). Only 36 years ago, a divorced woman had to have her 17 year old son co-sign her small business loan. In recent times, women founded companies make up a mere 5.9% of venture capital deals and women receive 2.4% of all venture capital backed funding, receiving a quarter of their funding compared to a large difference of their male counterparts receiving half of their asked funding, on average (Harvard Kennedy School).

This all being said, we wanted to take some time to highlight and appreciate some amazing women-led and owned health and wellness brands that we love. Our founder, Tonia Berry, spent a lot of time curating, creating, and envisioning everything that the Berry brand is. As a leader, founder, and owner of the brand, she truly puts her heart and soul into everything we do here. Let’s use this month to continue to support women, just like our founder, that against all odds thrown at them, continue to pursue their dream and make their ideas come to life.

Ritual

With the idea that better health begins with better ingredients, this company aims to create the purest formulations for everyday health with their vitamins and supplements. Known for their clinical-backed multivitamins for women, their products (including protein powder, prenatal vitamins, probiotic supplements, and more) have all clean ingredients, providing complete transparency, something the owner Katerina Schneider couldn’t find before starting Ritual. But, don’t just take my word for it, take a look at their clinical trial results and the scientific team they have here

Best Sellers: Women’s Multivitamin Vitamins, Synbiotic+ (gut health), HyaCera

Golde

Golde provides 100% natural and vegan-friendly superfood formulas to help boost your daily routine, creating products that fit your lifestyle, not the other way around.

Beginning with their first product of the original turmeric latte, their superfood blends have expanded beyond imagination to even skin care formulas. Next time I run out of my matcha, I’m definitely giving their superfood blends a shot!

Best sellers: Pure Ceremonial Matcha, Vegan Vanilla Collagen Creamer, Pineapple Debloat Ade, Cacao Turmeric Latte Blend, Turmeric Latte Blend, Clean Greens Face Mask, Blueberry Calm Ade, Watermelon Glow Ade, and Shroom Shield.

Love Wellness

Owner Lo Bosworth dreamed of creating a 1-stop shop for women’s wellness and personal care products, and her huge variety of products seems to show her determination in doing just that.

Supplements ranging from hormone health to vaginal health, she really does have it all. I have a major soft spot for this brand, being the first brand of probiotics and supplements I ever bought for myself. I can tell you though, the reviews don’t lie, they work!

Best sellers: Good Girl Probiotics, The Killer, pH Balancing Cleanser, Bye Bye Bloat, Healthy V Vitamin, Metabolove, Gut Feelings Probiotics, Sparkle Fiber, Daily Love Multivitamin,

Moon Juice

Moon Juice provides plant-sourced alchemy including adaptogenic super herbs and pushrooms to elevate beauty and wellbeing. Amanda Chantal Bacon, the founder, created Moon Juice after putting an autoimmune condition into remission by incorporating simple daily practices that took care of her mental and physical health.  Moon Juice uses rigorous sourcing, clinical doses, and bioavailable forms while being completely 100% traceable and transparent with their unadulterated ingredients. I don’t know about you, but I’ve personally seen an absurd amount of TikToks of sleepy girl mocktails using their iconic Magnesi-Om, so it’s safe to say it’s good and works well.

Best Sellers: Magnesi-Om (multiple flavors), Mini Dew (multiple flavors), SuperPower, SuperHair, SuperYou, Ting, SuperBeauty, Collagen Protect, Plump Jelly. Acid Potion, Brain Dust, and Cosmic Cocoa

Kosas

A work of art, Kosas’ first ever shades were created in a portrait painting class. With a passion for beauty and science, Sheena Zapeh-Daly created her first makeup product at the young age of 10 (I wonder if we will ever see a Kosas brand glitter gel highlighter) through inspiration from her favorite childhood toys: her microscope set and an art kit. With ingredients for sensitive skin being a top priority, this clean beauty company uses minimal ingredients as well as performs clinical safety testing on all their products to support all skin care sensitivities. You know how people in Europe always look so naturally beautiful? Well, Kosas adheres to the EU, Sephora, and Credo clean standards formulating their products without over 2,700 ingredients that many popular US brands put into their beauty lines (now it makes sense why my skin suffered so much in middle school!).

Best Sellers: Revealer Concealer, DreamBeam, Cloud Set Setting Powder, Collagen Spray-On Serum, Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation, Wet Stick, Brow Pop Nano, Air Brow, and more.

BEHAVE Gummies

Owner and founder Mayssa Chehata grew up in a household completely rid of sweets due to a father with diabetes. Just like all of us, when we are deprived of something, it only leads us to want it more. She developed an unhealthy obsession with sugar and sweets that took over her mental and physical health. As she grew up, she learned more about the harmful effects sugar was having on her health. With her love for sweets, but passion for health, she decided to create BEHAVE, a candy that both her and her diabetic father can enjoy together.

The flavor of these look so good, and are bringing fun flavors to the table. I’m a huge gummy lover and will have to pick these up next time I see them in stores.

Best Sellers: Sweet Stars, Sour Stars, Sweet Bears, and Sour Bears (watermelon, mango, and lychee flavoring).

Away Luggage

Personally, this is my favorite of the bunch. I could not survive without my Away carry-on and checked bags. Using materials like polycarbonate, aluminum, and water-resistant nylon, Away creates luggage that is durable and high-performing while being sleek and lightweight. The design of their bags truly makes the traveling journey seamless. I can say myself, I genuinely have gotten excited to pack rather than dreading it with my Away suitcase. But don’t just take my word for it, the company has been voted and been a top pick for numerous awards.

Best Sellers: The Bigger Carry On, The Overnight Bag, The Bigger Carry-On Flex, The Carry-On, The Everywhere Bag, The Medium Flex, and The Large.

Outdoor Voices

Pickleball is all the rage now, so why not get a cute new workout dress while supporting a woman owned brand? Outdoor Voices apparel aims to make activewear for daily things from walking your dog, to playing tennis, and running. All around, their clothing is catered for recreation–while still being fashionable. You couldn’t go anywhere without seeing someone wearing their iconic Exercise Dress a year or so ago, I mean it’s the perfect on-the-go activewear for the summer! OV takes sustainability to another level by reducing their use of conventional fabrics, using packaging that is both recycled and recyclable, using recycled rubber floors in stores, launching partnerships with WWF, eliminating single-use plastics from all community events, and more.

Best Sellers: The Exercise Dress (obviously), LightSpeed 3” Short (my personal favorite for outdoor walks), Double Time Bra, Utility Pant, Nimbus Crewneck, Warmup 5” Short, Recreationalist Graphic Shortsleeve, RecTrek Pant, and CloudKnit Shortsleeve.

This list could go on and on and on, but for this article, I really wanted to feature some of the women-owned brands trending throughout the wellness community to provide a little background. Switch up your products this month and give some of these companies a try! I actually just ran out and got another Moon Juice product while writing this article–it reminded me I was out!

Be well,

Audrey
